Hazardous Areas
ACI’s blower range complies with ATEX Directive 94/9/EC – Group II, Category 2, Zones 1 & 2. They are widely employed within the offshore and marine industries, many with special paint finishes to match specific applications.
With the recent introduction of the new ‘EV’ blower range flow rates of up to 50,000M³/Hr, and maximum pressures of up to 150mBar can be readily offered.
ACI is helping many companies with innovative solutions to recycling issues, particularly in the area of waste separation.
For example, an Airknife placed horizontally across a drop enables all ‘light’ material to be caught by the airflow and blown into a collection bin on the opposite side of the conveyor. ACI Airknives have also been supplied to this industry where heavier items, such as aluminium cans are being recycled.
For many years, ACI have supplied blacksmiths with centrifugals fans for forge temperature control.
Used to efficiently and effectively raise and lower the temperature of a forge (to work steel, forges temperatures need to be near 2000oC) ACI multi-stage blowers have the unique advantage of being able to have their airflow shut off without the need of a pressure relief valve, thus reducing the danger of burning out the motor.
Retail fish outlets for tropical or sea water fish displays/storage with multiple tanks can benefit from the ACI range of fan products. For example, the ‘MS8 range’ has the ability of aerating tanks of up to 18" deep, whilst the ‘MS11 range’ up to a further 26" deep.

All these should be piped in 1 ½" diameter pipe-work with 1/8" airline dropped into each tank. Providing a loose type air-stone is fitted, these can be used for efficient circulation or alternatively under-gravel filter boxes can be used.
Solder Fume Extraction
Since the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act, attention has been paid to the effects of fumes arising from soldering processes. Fumes arising from the use of natural flux contain Colophony which is both an irritant both to skin and chest. Evidence of acute toxic effects have been found in subjects exposed to fumes from soft and hard soldering processes.
ACI's fans ranges have been used extensively in the area of solder fume extraction. A large choice of accessories, which include spigots, filters, and guards also enables customers to modify the exhauster unit and not the design of the installation.
Screen Print Tables
Traditionally, ACI's has supplied fan units for the screen printing industry: ACI multi stage units, for example, offer many advantages over other centrifugal and side channel blowers as they operate at exceptionally low noise levels; are maintenance free in excess of two years in ambient temperatures of upto 40 Deg.C and have no brush life to worry about as the motors are two pole speed induction type.
Their construction is flexible and unique - the modular system employed allows for many permutations in the number of stages available and a wide range of motor voltages and frequencies.
Crop Conditioning
The key to safe grain storage lies in the grain temperature and not the moisture content. ACI's centrifugal range of blowers is extensively used for use in on-floor cooling, drying and ventilation of all floor stored crops.
The air flow resistance characteristics of pedestal ventilators are governed by the perforations in the base unit and their interaction with the crop.
