Airknife System FAQS
- Can I use compressed air with an airknife?
There has always been a wide assortment of blow off appliances for use with compressed air. These range from home made round pipes with holes to engineered high pressure air knives. However, ACI airknives are only designed to specifically operate with a blower. - What is an airknife?
An air knife is a tool used to blow off liquid or debris from products as they travel on conveyors. Air knives are normally used in manufacturing or as the first step in a recursive recycling process to separate lighter or smaller particles from other components for use in later or subsequent steps, post manufacturing parts drying and conveyor cleaning, part of component cleaning. - How do airknife running costs compare to compressed air costs?
ACI's blower driven Airknife technology is more efficient than using compressed air. Implementation of an Airknife System will provide savings of up to 90% when compared to compressed air costs, meaning that an investment typically pays for itself in a very short period of time - a 5 or 6 month payback is not uncommon. - What can and cannot be dried using an airknife?
Any conveyorised 'widget' that has surface moisture present can be 'dried'. Any object that holds liquid, such as a sponge, cannot be dried using an airknife. - Are you able to carry out a site visit to my company to assess the application?
Yes, ACI Ltd offer any mainland UK company a FREE DEMO and assessment. Simply contact our Sales Department on 0845 5000 501 and request a visit. - Do you have a test facility to see if airknives will work for my application?
ACI Ltd have a fully equipped R&D Laboratory. This facility enables us to carry out testing on products ranging from soft drink cans to full car bodies.
