With the drying oven set at 150\u00b0C, the fuel tanks not only still remained wet (mainly on the underside of the product) before entering the spray paint area, but also became extremely hot. Both of these characteristics led to an unacceptable level of paint being used on each tank in order to achieve an acceptable level of paint finish quality.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; z_index_tablet=&#8221;500&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<h4>The Solution<\/h4>\n<p>Installing an Air knife drying system on the line immediately after the wet cleaning process, allowed all of the excess water to be completely removed before the tank enters the oven. This has allowed the oven temperature to be lowered to 95\u00b0C which in turn has meant that the tanks reach the paint shop completely dry and much cooler. As the applied paint is water based, this allows for far better paint coverage and therefore much lower consumption levels.<\/p>\n<h4>The Outcome<\/h4>\n<p>A saving of over \u00a31000.00 per month has been achieved in paint consumption savings.
