_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;|40px||||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]Global Marine Group has a long and proud history in the specialist deployment of subsea cables \u2013 inevitably in challenging conditions.<\/p>\n<p>But it needed a drying solution when water on a cable jacket was causing a deployment machine to lose its grip on the cable.<\/p>\n<p>So Global Marine Group called in ACI\u2026<\/p>\n<p>We have extensive experience in cable drying \u2013 but Global Marine Group\u2019s requirement was a new challenge for us:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The cable diameter ranged from 17 mm to 32 mm (but we usually work with &lt;10 mm cables).<\/li>\n<li>The cable can be moving at up to 10,000 metres per hour.<\/li>\n<li>The application area is an open deck on a vessel operating in the world\u2019s oceans. This wet environment is much more challenging than a factory on dry land.<\/li>\n<li>Seawater is highly corrosive.<\/li>\n<li>There are adhesive marker tapes on the cable at prescribed intervals. They must not be removed in the drying process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And the solution had to be delivered within constrained delivery dates, due to the nature of Global Marine Group\u2019s work.
