Meat processor enhances efficiency with blower-powered can drier

The Problem

Scandia Food is the leading canned-meat products company in Romania with over 50% of the market. Their product offerings include liver pate, stews, meat sauces and traditional Romanian dishes under the brand names of Scandia Sibiu, Bucegi and Sadu. Scandia had a major issue with can drying (sides and tops of cans) and needed an effective solution to improve their labelling process.

Line Requirements:

Throughput Speeds: 12,000cph
Can Diameters: 73mm, 83mm and 99mm
Can Heights: 48mm up to 110mm

The Solution

A combination of a pair of Air Control Industries ‘EL’ Enclosures, fitted with a pair of Stainless Steel Air Knives and an ACI Can Drying Tunnel – this configuration allows Scandia to cope with different product sizes with equal efficiency.

The Outcome

Scandia’s cleaning operations have been simplified, helping to enhance hygiene functions. Additionally, operating costs have been significantly reduced due to the superior efficiency provided by the new can tunnel drier over the previous system.
